Lip Blush Healing and Aftercare Guidance

Follow this guide after your SPMU appointment.

Proper aftercare is essential to help your lips heal beautifully and maintain their color and shape. Follow this guide closely for the best results.

your Lip Blush Aftercare Guide

  • Keep your lips dry and avoid drinking through a straw if possible.
  • Avoid touching, picking, or rubbing your lips.
  • Do not apply lipstick, lipliner, or other lip products during the healing stage.
  • Your lips may feel dry or tight, and light flaking or peeling is normal.
  • The colour of your lips may appear darker or uneven at first – this is part of the healing process.
  • Do not exfoliate your lips or apply products unless advised otherwise. Again, avoid picking and peeling .
  • The flaking should subside, and the colour will begin to soften.
  • Your lips may appear lighter or patchy as the pigment settles, which we can address in your touch-up appointment.
  • Continue to avoid harsh lip products or exfoliants.
  • You should schedule your touch-up appointment after 6 to 8 weeks.
  • The touch-up helps to perfect the colour and intensity and symmetry of your lips, and address any patchiness resulting from the healing process.
  • After this, your lip blush can last 2 to 3 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle and skincare routine.

Lip Healing Timeline

Day 1-2, Fresh & Bold

Your colour will look vibrant and lips may feel slightly tender.

Day 3-5, Flaking and Peeling

As your lips begin to heal, you may notice light flaking or peeling. The colour may appear uneven or darker in some areas. It’s very important not to pick or irritate your lips with products during this stage.

Day 6-10, Softening

Any flaking or peeling should naturally slow down, and your lip colour may begin to soften in appearance. Some areas may look lighter as the pigment settles.

Touch Up Time

Around 6-8 weeks after your initial lip blush treatment, you’ll return for your touch-up appointment. This session ensures the shape, colour, and symmetry are perfect and helps your lips maintain their beautiful, semi-permanent look.
