Your Guide to Lash Extensions

Types of Lash Extensions:

Classic Lashes

One extension applied to one natural lash for a subtle, mascara-like look.

Hybrid Lashes

A mix of classic and volume lashes applied for a fuller finish and textured look.

Volume Lashes

Fans of multiple fine lashes applied to one natural eyelash for a bold, fluffy finish.

Lash extensions are individual fibres that are individually applied to your natural eyelash using a semi-permanent professional adhesive. Lash extensions can enhance the length, fullness and curl of your natural lashes – without the need for mascara. The results can range from soft and natural to full and glamorous, depending on the desired outcome.

Your Go-To Guide on Choosing a Style:

1
Consider your eye shape.

We know that ‘one size fits all’ doesn’t work within the lash game.

  • ALMOND EYES – most styles will suit almond eye shape especially cat eye and wispy styles
  • ROUND EYES – a doll eye style (longer lashes in the middle) will help soften your eyes.
  • HOODED EYES – open eye or doll eye will help to lift and open up the lid area.
  • DOWNTURNED EYES – a cat eye or strong curl lifts the outer corners.
  • CLOSE EYES – cat eye styles can create the illusion of wider spacing between the eyes.
  • WIDE EYES – doll or natural lash maps help to balance the features of someone with this eye shape.
2
Think about what you want.

Think about the look you are going for prior to your appointment. For a natural look, you might prefer Classics. Hybrids offer a soft glam look, and Volume lashes are full glam! For the shape, doll eye brings a bright and balanced look, which opens up the eye. Cat eye is sleek and elongates the eye.

3
Consider your natural lashes:

The health and thickness of your natural lashes will ultimately determine the kind of lashes you should have. For sparser lashes, light Volume or Hybrids can help fill any gaps and create more fullness. Thicker, fuller lashes can handle whichever extensions you decide including a full and thick fluffy set.

your Lash Extension Aftercare Guide

  • Keep your new lashes dry for at least 24 hours – no water, sweat or steam.
  • Avoid makeup and skincare products around the eyes.
  • Keep your lashes fresh using your Lowes Lashes Cherry Whipped Lash Shampoo, which can be bought during your appointment or online.
  • You should brush your extensions daily with a spoolie.
  • For the first 24 hours, it is particularly important that you avoid any skincare and makeup products.
  • After this, you should continue to avoid oil based products. You should not apply mascara or eyeliner on or around your lashes, as this causes dirt and oil to build up which impacts lash retention.
  • With proper aftercare, your lashes should last 2-4 weeks.
  • To keep them looking full and fresh, you should schedule your infill appointment within 2-3 weeks.
