SPMU Brow Healing and Aftercare Guide

Follow this guide after your Microblading, Ombré or Combination Brow appointment.

Proper aftercare ensures your brows heal beautifully and your results last longer. During the healing stage, you must avoid scratching and picking, refrain from applying makeup/skincare products around the brows, and keep them clean.

your Brow Aftercare Guide

  • Keep your brows dry for at least 24 hours – no water, sweat or steam.
  • You should avoid touching, scratching or picking at the area as this may irritate the brows.
  • Do not apply makeup on or around your brows as this can slow down the healing process.
  • Your brows may look darker or bolder than expected, this is normal.
  • Light flaking and scabbing is also normal, do not pick or peel any scabs or flakes which start to form.
  • You should also avoid direct sun, saunas, steam rooms and swimming during this stage.
  • Scabs should begin to fall off naturally around 1-2 weeks after your treatment.
  • During this time you should avoid heavy exfoliation or skincare with acids near the brows.
  • Your brows may appear lighter or slightly patchier at this stage, which is why we do a follow-up appointment for any touch-ups required after healing.
  • You should schedule your touch-up appointment after 6 to 8 weeks.
  • The touch-up helps to perfect the shape, colour and symmetry of your brows and address any patchiness resulting from the healing process.
  • After this, your brows can last 1 to 3 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle and skincare routine.

Brow Healing Timeline

Day 1-2, Fresh & Bold

Your brows will look darker, sharper, and more defined than expected. Some redness or slight tenderness around the area is normal.

Day 3-5, Flaking and Scabbing

As your skin begins to heal, you may notice light flaking or scabbing. The color may appear uneven or darker in some areas. It’s very important not to pick or scratch the brows during this stage.

Day 6-10, Softening

The scabs should start to naturally fall off, and your brows may begin to soften in appearance. Some areas may look lighter as the pigment settles into the skin.

Day 11-14, Settling

Your brows will continue to settle into their final shape. The color may still lighten slightly, but don’t worry – this is completely normal.

Touch Up Time

Around 6-8 weeks after your initial treatment, you’ll return for your touch-up appointment. This session ensures the shape, color, and symmetry are perfect and helps your brows maintain their beautiful, semi-permanent look for months to come.
